Dr. Hillary Martin
"The first day I met Dr. Martin, I left her office with a massive sense of optimism and relief. It was almost as if a huge weight was lifted, and I thought, I am finally going to get the help I've been needing and wanting for years."
Dr. Martin is a licensed & registered Naturopathic Doctor in the states of California and Colorado. She has been passionate about health, diet and exercise ever since she was a child and has worked in healthcare for over 15 years. Her mother had cancer and died of secondary heart failure over ten years after the diagnosis. As she watched that process happen she was exposed to the powers of western medicine, chemotherapy, radiation treatments and the miracles of naturopathic medicine, nutrient supplementation, exercise, macrobiotic diet, stress management and laugh therapy that extended her mothers life well beyond predictions. This had a huge impact on her life and created her desire to bridge the gap between eastern and western medicine. She was raised by her father, has travelled the world, worked a myriad of jobs and over the years with drive and enthusiasm became a doctor. Now as a woman, a mother, and a doctor working in a mans world she has created her ideal work environment at the Naturopathic Womens Wellness Center! The office environment is family friendly, professional, personal and allows her to do the two things she does best, optimize wellness in her patients and raise her family with love and attention. Dr. Martin schedules 60-90 minutes for each office visit to allow time to be thorough in health history, physical exam and get to know each patient on an individual basis. This time commitment and connection she believes is the power behind naturopathic medicine and what makes the difference in true healing. She plans to specify days of the month to be designated as “Pay It Forward” days where patients can seek medical care on a sliding scale basis in effort to make this medicine accessible to everyone. She is excellent at what she does, can offer the best of both worlds as a primary care naturopathic doctor and health consultant well versed in eastern and western medical processes and would love to share it with you!
Dr. Martin earned her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Pre-Med at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Prior to receiving her doctorate she worked in the physical therapy rehabilitation center for acute care at SM-UCLA medical center. She has a Massage Therapy license from The Swedish Institute in New York City and worked extensively with Dr. Gary Ostrow, DO in NYC in his pain management clinic.
As part of her post-graduate training, Dr. Martin completed several rigorous continuation courses in Biochemistry, Nutrition and Food Science in New York City. In Seattle, she trained in an extended pediatric preceptorship at The Kids Clinic with Dr. Carol Doroshow, MD, FAAP, as well as at The Bastyr Center for Natural Health (BCNH) in Advanced Gynecology, Diabetes and Endocrine dysfunction. She continued her Endocrinology work at BCNH specifically focusing on Autoimmune conditions and HIV.
In her practice, Dr. Martin provides comprehensive naturopathic medical care and individualized support that integrates the “western” MD perspective. She has close to 20 years experience working in health-care. Her training and exposure with NDs as well as MDs/DOs makes her unique in bridging the gap with both aspects of medicine. Her goals are to analyze and assess all sides of ones health including mental, emotional and the pathophysiological aspects in order to optimize health. Her philosophy is to prevent illness, discover imbalances within the body and rebuild the foundation to create health. This path is achieved through patient education, lifestyle changes, nutrition, counseling and a proper support network. Her skill base also uses food as medicine, botanicals, homeopathy, and manual therapy, as well as conventional treatments, lab work and imaging when needed. She takes a “first do no harm” approach to her medicine utilizing the most effective yet least invasive approach to optimize wellness.
Dr. Martin is a member of the Colorado Naturopathic Doctors Association CoAND and the California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA). She is licensed by the state of Colorado as a ND, RND. In her free time you can find her playing with her two kiddos, hiking in the mountains, camping, shopping at the weekly farmers markets and maintaining a daily yoga practice to keep her balanced and focused.

Dr. Hillary Roland
"I have been a patient of Dr Hillary Roland for years. She has changed my life for the better in so many ways. She is very warm, intelligent and intuitive. I plan on keeping her as my doctor for many many years to come!"
Dr. Hillary Roland is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor who specializes in women’s health, pediatrics and family medicine. She seeks to support women during every stage in their lives in order to create a sense of deep wellbeing that empowers them to be their authentic and most inspired selves. As a doctor and a new mom, her clinical focus is on correcting female hormone imbalances, relieving pregnancy discomforts, and raising healthy happy kids. She combines the best of conventional and alternative approaches to provide her patients with the highest-quality care.
Dr. Roland has over 16 years experience in healthcare. She began her career as a medical interpreter helping Spanish-speaking patients navigate the traditional medical arena. After years of seeing doctors working with crippling time constraints, offering quick fixes for symptoms, and overuse of drugs to treat the side effects; she knew there had to be a better way. Inspired by her own success with alternative medicine to treat her irregular and debilitating menstrual cycles, she sought to find a more holistic and natural approach to medicine.
In 2005 she started the Naturopathic Medicine program at Bastyr University. In 2007 she added a second degree program and began training as a direct-entry midwife to broaden her education to include pregnancy, birth, post-partum and infant care. Dr. Roland graduated from Bastyr in 2010 with a degree in Naturopathic Medicine and a Certificate in Naturopathic Midwifery, then completed a yearlong clinical residency at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health. She also received advanced clinical training in gynecology, autoimmune disease, diabetes and heart disease. She completed a 2 year preceptorship at the Odessa Brown Pediatrics Clinic in Seattle WA, working alongside noted pediatrician Dr. Ben Danielson. Although she is no longer attending births, it is her belief that a healthy pregnancy, birth and early childhood lays the foundation for life-long wellness. She loves supporting women and children during this epic transformation.
In 2011 she moved to bay area and started an integrative pediatrics practice with Dr. Amy Maidenberg, became the children and women’s health expert at Walnut Creek Naturopathic and volunteered on the board for the San Francisco Fire Department’s Cancer Prevention Foundation. In 2016 life brought her back to Colorado to be closer to family and she is thrilled to join Dr. Hillary Martin as part of the team at Naturopathic Women’s Wellness.
Dr. Roland’s clinical experience has been focused on health for the entire life-cycle: infant health, emotional development, pre-conception care, pregnancy, hormonal transitions and support of aging bodies. She uses both conventional and functional diagnostic techniques to investigate the root cause of each patients’ unique set of symptoms. As a healthcare provider she is adept at evaluating the latest research and utilizing a wide range of healing modalities including botanical medicine, therapeutic nutrition, lifestyle changes, physical medicine, counseling, and pharmaceuticals* to guide her patients towards optimal health.
Dr. Roland’s clinical philosophy seeks to honor the body’s innate healing ability and recognizes that each person requires a unique and individualized approach. She believes in treating the body with research-based therapies and adequate support to create meaningful change. She offers relaxed 90 minute initial visits to ensure each patient feels informed and supported through their journey towards optimal health. She also offers a free 15 minute consultation to get to know you, define what she does, and explain how she can help. She excels at bridging the gap between eastern and western medicine, winning over skeptics, and treating a variety of health concerns including:
- Irregular menstrual cycles
- Hormonal imbalances
- Digestive issues
- Auto-immune disorders
- Mood disorders including postpartum depression and PMDD
- Thyroid issues
- Common discomforts in pregnancy
- Breastfeeding issues
