The United States has lost over 500,000 people to COVID, and the world has lost over 3 million. The global lockdowns and isolation are something we have all had to adjust to and deal with for over the last year. Many of us have lost jobs, business, routines, homes, loved ones... it has been a tough year. The mental health impact from COVID has been severe. Rates of anxiety and depression have sky-rocketed as many people have been cut off from social networks, have moved out of work-places and into home office spaces, and have lost friends and loved ones. According to CDC data, back in June 2020 (3 months into the lockdowns and turmoil), 40% of polled US adults were reporting struggling with their mental health and substance use. We can only wonder how much these numbers have changed (read: increased substantially) in the following 10 months, now that we find ourselves in April 2021. Despite all the chaos we’ve experienced over the last year-and-some, the global human population has shown themselves to be resilient and courageous. We’ve adapted to a changing world. We’ve learned how to use Zoom and other virtual meeting sites. We’ve learned how to give each other hugs through plastic barriers, and we celebrated our front-line workers with pots, pans, and ruckus every evening. We’ve changed our home environments to not only complete our work and teach our children, but to rely on our families and loved ones to keep one another safe. We’ve worn masks and have avoided seeing those we care about in the hopes that we can all gather again soon. This global pandemic has taken a toll on all of us. As such, I am excited to make myself available for Colorado clients looking to optimize their physical, mental, and emotional health. I have expertise in counseling, life coaching, and mind-body medicine, paired with naturopathic medicine modalities which include botanical medicine, optimizing nutrition, and physical medicine techniques like craniosacral therapy. My goal is to help you recover from the significant stress COVID may have played on your last year, and help empower you to live your healthiest life for years to come.
